The American Giving Awards are the first-ever televised celebrity tribute to community heroes, offering five charities an opportunity to share in $2 million in Chase grants so they may continue their work in helping others.
WHAT IS THE BEAUTY BOOK?: The Beauty Book is a 312-page hard cover coffee table book , which has the support of some of the biggest identities in the world. The book is images of your favorite celebrities, musicians and top models. All the money raised, will go directly to Brain Cancer via two charities called SNOG & HEADRUSH. These charitable
organizations are non- profit and both rely on donations for research.

Photographer, Darren Tieste founded this project in February 2009 after he lost his dear friend, Natalie Sattler Esposito to Brain Cancer in September 2008, she was 35 years old. This is one friend’s life that was cut way to short, so he used all his Hollywood connections to give brain cancer a voice and The Beauty Book was born. In April 2010, he was introduced to an amazing person “Pantera” Sarah Uphoff, whose mom at the time was battling brain cancer, Louise Uphoff. Pantera joined forces with him to rally many of her celebrity friends to be photographed for The Beauty Book. During the 2nd year of photographing people for this project her mom Louise, lost her battle with this disease in July 2011.
Miley joined the Dec. 4, 2011 Event for The Trevor Project at the Hollywood Palladium.

WHAT: Trevor Live at the Hollywood Palladium presented by Audi of America and ING is the signature annual event of The Trevor Project, a recent honoree of the White House as a Champion of Change for leadership and innovation in suicide prevention. This annual December event brings together top entertainers and corporate leaders to support the organization’s lifesaving initiatives, including its free and confidential lifeline, in-school workshops, educational materials, online resources and advocacy.
Miley Cyrus is surrounded by young volunteers at the Sharing the Spirit Holiday Party held for Orange County’s shelter and motel kids at South Coast Plaza on Friday night. “I don’t just stop at one thing that’s important to me,” she told the kids in urging them to keep volunteering to help others in their communities. “Whatever makes you happy, that’s what you give.”
